Fixing the boot loader problem in Vista or Windows 7

Fixing the boot loader can be made simple if you have an installation disc of Windows with you…Hopes you are against piration… 

Windows Vista/ Windows 7  

      1.  Put the installation disc on the dvd drive and restart  your computer 

          to boot from the disc… 

     2. When booted select the Time, Language, Keyboard options     

         that suits for your  computer & click next

3.  Select the option Repair your computer in the next window of the wizard

4.  Choose the option Startup repair from the System recovery options…

5.  Recovery manager will automatically fix the problem of your boot loader.

If the automatical recovery fails, go back to system recovery options.

6.  Select the Command Prompt option from the list. It will open a command

prompt window

 
   7.  Type Bootrec.exe, and then press ENTER. The command prompt will  show you the possible  options.

 

    8. Type in Bootrec.exe  /FixMbr to fix the MBR. The FixMbr command will   
         only try to solve the problems that inhibit windows from booting. 
         It doesn’t overwrite the boot table..

 
    9. If the commands are properly entered then you will  get a  message 
        as shown in the following figure
