Installing Blueman on Ubuntu


                    Blueman is a nice and  cool apllication software running on gtk engine which gives a good interface to connect your mobile or bluetooth device to the system. It's  advantege is that it easily  handles the gprs connection so that you can use mobile web easily on your computer without creating some dialler etc... manually. Try it, you will be adicted...
       
Go to System--->Administration--->Software--->Sources.Now click on Third-Party Software tab, Click on add one of the following sourcelist which is suitable for you on the basis of your operating system.

For Ubuntu Jaunty (9.04) Users

    deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/blueman/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main

For Ubuntu Intrepid (8.10) Users

    deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/blueman/ppa/ubuntu intrepid main

For Ubuntu hardy (8.04) Users

    deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/blueman/ppa/ubuntu hardy main

Ubuntu Gutsy (7.10) Users

    deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/blueman/ppa/ubuntu gutsy main

Once this is done follow the steps

Installing from Synaptic Package Manager

Synaptic Package Manager from System--->Administration--->Synaptic and and click reload.
Then search for package named blueman in the list and mark it for installation. After marking then click on the apply button on the top to
complete the installation.

Installing from the Terminal 

From the terminal run the following command

   
sudo apt-get update               
                             .....for updating the package list, not for updating the packages

Install blueman using the following command

    sudo apt-get install blueman
Blueman will remove and replace the default bluetooth manager that came preinstalled with ubuntu.

Later it can be accessed by going to system--->preference--->bluetooth manager
